Vacuum Cleaner Galaxy (Messier 109)

M109 is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major, close to the star Phecda, located approximately 70 million light-years away. It is the most distant object in the Messier Catalog. M109 is the brightest galaxy in the M109 Group, which contains more than 50 galaxies.
